Are you looking for a challenge in the field of electrical energy supply and would you like to gain practical experience away from the lecture theatre by supporting current research projects?
For our location in Aachen we are looking for a
Student Assistant (w/m/d), (min. 8 hrs. /week)
to support the Software development Department
with focus on Python Library IntegralPy
We developed the INTEGRAL software tool back in 1974 together with our member companies as a powerful tool for grid planning. Today, our product is a market leader, with all German transmission system operators, engineering offices, universities and operators of industrial grids relying on INTEGRAL. The INTEGRAL software tool offers users the option of automating repetitive workflows using a JavaScript scripting language. In view of the growing popularity of the Python programming language, we are migrating this macro functionality to our new Python library IntegralPy. In addition to replacing the legacy scripting language, IntegralPy library will also lay an important building block for the introduction of cloud technology into our product range.
Your possible tasks
- Development of the INTEGRAL C++ code for the IntegralPy functionality
- Development of template-based code generators in Python for the creation of the IntegralPy library
- Writing the integration tests for the IntegralPy library in pytest
Your profile
- You are preferably studying (technical) computer science, electrical engineering, electronic energy technology or similar
- You have sound knowledge of software development
- You are proficient in Python and C++ and have very good programming skills
- You enjoy working on energy technology issues
- You enjoy working in a team and have an independent, structured way of working
What we offer
- Possible supervision of internships, Bachelor's or Master's theses
- Contact opportunities with potential employers from industry and business
- A workplace near the university and city centre
- Flexible working hours and a positive working atmosphere
- A direct insight into the project world and current issues in the energy industry
