There are many reasons that make an independent verification of your power generation unit or plant necessary. One way to prove compliance with the grid connection rules is an independent and accredited certification. Whether a systen operator requires proof of certification of the generation unit or secondary technology or even the entire power generation plant depends on the requirements of the respective country's grid code requirements.

In 2004, we have issued for one of our customers the world's first unit certificate. Since then, the market for renewable energies has evolved rapidly. Nowadays all generating units must possess a valid unit certificate so that these can be sold in series in the German market. We have continuously improved and expanded our portfolio for you and offer you comprehensive accredited certification services in the international market environment.
The process of unit certification implies investigation of the electrical behaviour of the wind turbine, the inverter or the combustion plant for conformity with the respective grid connection rules. In addition to evaluating the results of Type testing and Measurement, we also validate the simulation model provided by you as the manufacturer.
As part of the unit certification, we evaluate, among other things, the following electrical properties of your generating units:
- Voltage quality
- Fault ride through behaviour
- Reactive power
- Active power
- Protection equipment and behaviour

FGH Test Lab
We will be happy to offer you also the underlying type tests and measurements through our test lab. You can view a list of all certificates issued for generating units at the website of FGW. On request we will provide you with binding statements on the validity of certificates.
