FGH – The Research & Development Network In The Electricity And Power Industry

About us: Way back in 1921, committed representatives from the field of science and those from power supply companies founded a joint research network, which ultimately led to the founding of today's FGH. At that stage FGH was a registered association engaged in the study of high voltage systems. We, as a scientific and practical platform, have since dedicated ourselves to the major issues of secure further development of power grids in the interest of our members. Pursuing this tradition, we continue to work on practical energy technology and energy management issues of the present time. The direct involvement of network operators and the manufacturing industry into project planning and processing is bound to guarantee a high level of practical relevance of the projects, their direct benefit for our members and a quick transfer of the results. Our members receive support from our team consisting of electrical engineers.

On the one hand, we seek funding from public institutions for project financing and on the other hand, we also work on self-financed and industrial contract research.

Main Topics

One of our main areas of activity are studies, analyses and reports on behalf of network operators, industrial companies, plant manufacturers or other institutions and organizations. For these, we develop solutions for mostly very specific and complex issues arising from the practical applications of plant, testing or system technology.
We will be happy to support you if you have any queries relating to current technological aspects against the background of the power industry of the energy transition – in Germany, Europe and in international projects. In that respect, we focus our energy and electrotechnical expertise on the interaction of electrical grids and energy systems – from the specific perspective of a technology and its systemic effect. We always put our findings at the service of a sustainable, economically viable power supply; and together with our members, we further develop their technologies in a future-oriented approach.
